Erm, I've ended up in here due to a mistyped Google search: that and the fact that the "M" key is sticking on my keyboard..
Okay, a friend of mine is thinking of coming up to Scotland (yes, from down South.. sorry, but it qualifies as international eh to study. I believe the subject she wants to study is International Social Sciences, and the choice so far is between Glasgow (!) and some other Uni in Edinburgh. Bearing in mind that you're probably a bit biased, what would be your preference ?
She's actually over here from the Czech Republic and so would be looking for a Uni with (obviously) a good academic record and an even better social life
Would Glasgow fit the bill ? Please let me know !

You really expect someone not to recommend Glasgow Peter?
I think almost all Universities in Scotland are the same. No work and all play. What it comes down to is a matter of convenience and preferences. Glasgow and Edniburgh Unis are based in cities. Others have a campus feel.
That is all I can say. Not too helpful but then no one should base their decisions on posts in a forum I suppose.

yeah, bit of an obvious question that really
almost all Universities in Scotland are the same. No work and all play.
Hmmm, that sounds serious ! So don't you International Society folk ever get to travel, er, internationally ? My friend says that the Czech Republic is a great place to visit, especially as Praha has the biggest nightclub in Europe - Karlovy Lazne ! Has anybody been there recently - I hear there was some really good music going down on at the start of October ?

On the contrary - it's often better to get the opinion at ground level as well as the "official" version !
Cheers !
