Dancing in Cuba Norte!

....................................................................................................

UPDATE: We can confirm that we are going to Cuba Norte on Sunday 19 September!

Bring all your friends, students or not, the entrance is completely free!!!!

...................................................................................................

Just to start heating up this term, we will be going to Cuba Norte on Sunday 19 September 2004.

The meeting point will be the University Main Gates on University Avenue at 8 pm. From there we can go either by taxis, bus or even walking (30 min walk or so ). Bus 11 is probably the best option (bring some change, lets say 1.50 in small coins to pay for your bus fare).

Cuba Norte is one block away from George Square (Glasgow main square) and you can find a map here in case you want to meet us there.

Entrance is free and you will find international music more towards the latinish/dancing side but not much of hardcore salsa on Sundays, so you don't need to be a professional. The bar is good with decent promos. Dressing code? I have seen everything there! from very relaxed to very smart, although trainers on the dance floor make me think of basketball...

OK feel free to come and bring your friends (students or not), this activity is free. What do you have to do on Sunday night??? tele??? Get a better excuse!

For all those who missed it, Sunday night was great. Not even the rain stopped people coming!

More than 10 taxis and one packed bus were needed to take everyone from the Main Gates to Cuba Norte. Once there, the place got quite busy. Conservative estimates tell us that between 100 and 150 people were dancing and having fun in a very relaxed environment. By the time Cuba Norte closed (1 am) a huge crowd was still around!

First event of the year, I think it was fun and a little bit chaotic because of the rain, but otherwise great.

What do you think_?
