During the Thursday pub nights in Hogs Head (which I pretty much enjoy every week) I spoke with some people about the pub nights and the idea arose whether it might be a good idea to swap the pubs every now and then (e.g. once a month).
There are obviously quite a lot of good pubs in Glasgow and it's quite a pity just to know the Hogs Head :)
This post is intended to start a discussion on that issue and I pretty much hope that there will be a number of different views on that. Maybe it's even worth to do a poll on the GUIS main page.
Enjoy your week and CU on Thursday.
P.S. Hey, I can make a poll myself. That's great! So please vote.

That's some good initiative to get a poll started on this issue. We're always looking for feedback on everything we do, but it would be especially helpful to get some views on the pub nights since they are our most regular event.
Let's get some suggestions for different places we could go. The committee will then go and figure out how feasible it would be to move the pub night there for a night. Criteria which you should take into account when coming up with suggestions are the size of the venue and how easy it is to find and get to. If we get a good attendance at our pub nights then there are quite a lot of us so I guess size is the biggest problem to be solved.
The society exists to try to make sure you guys are having a good time so don't be shy, let us know what you think.
Get posting everybody!
Neil
PS. I refuse to call you Lord Witwenmacher so post your real name! I'm just kidding, you don't have to, it would be nice though.
Wow, I am even surprised that someone posted anything here! we are normally quite lonely overhere... so well done!
About venues, basically Neil (Od) mentioned it... size is the main issue. Not many pubs can cope with 100-150 people getting in, in about 1 or 2 hours. During previous years, the Usige Beatha was the meeting place, but it is tooooooo small for us, besides drinks are more expensive .
Another thing is that many people do not check the website regularly, forget about this forum, and unbelievably to me...they take like 4 or 5 days to check their emails... just a thought.
There was one pubcrawl back in September and another in December, so would make sense to increase the number of pubcrawls next term.
What do you think?
Edgar
